Are you going to New York City?
Here’s my list of recommendations:
- Scarr’s Pizza (classic style, get the sausage if you eat meat)
- Prince St. Pizza (thick Sicilian style, get the pepperoni if you eat meat)
- 39 K Food (Korean bodega)
- Joe’s Shanghai (soup dumplings)
- Burger Joint (hidden burger spot inside hotel lobby)
- Company Culture coffee (coffeeshop Kelly helped design!)
- Begamo’s bar (bar Kelly helped design!)
- Somedays Bakery (LIC & Astoria)
- Attaboy (speakeasy where bartender’s ask what you like and make you a custom drink)
- 99 Favor Taste (hot pot, yes it’s “favor”)
- Bagels – Broad Nosh is great. Tal’s, Zucker’s, and Ess-a-Bagel are all reliable chains. Bricktown Bagels in LIC is great too.
- Peeps Kitchen – authentic Korean fried chicken
- Aunt Jake’s – solid Italian food
- Order a chopped cheese at a bodega and thank me later
- Roosevelt Island
- Marsha P. Johnson State Park
- Hunter’s Point South
- Central Park (obvi)
- The High Line & Little Island
- Greenacre Park
- Ride the ferry! It’s sometimes faster than the subway, isn’t too pricey, and you get good views
- AVOID TIMES SQUARE IT’S NOT COOL AND NEVER WORTH IT
